The Church Tower

A place of worship has stood on this site in what we now call Heston since Saxon times.  The Tower is believed to date from the 14th Century.

The Lych Gate

The Lych Gate was originally built in 1450 and the porch was built in Tudor times.

Inside the Church

Most of what you see in the body of the church today, however, dates back to the 1860s, when St Leonard's was largely demolished and re-built, because it was in a very bad state of repair. The parish archives hold wealth of interesting documents and artefacts relating to worship at St Leonard's and the social history of Heston and the local district. Archives are dynamic and we are always pleased to receive new and relevant material for preservation for future historians.
